On May 12, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Gia Lai province was assigned to preside over and coordinate with the Tax sector to urgently implement measures to combat tax revenue loss in the mineral sector.
Statistics show that in 2025, the whole province exploited about 2.2 million m3 of crushed stone, 360 thousand m3 of block stone, 750 thousand m3 of construction sand, nearly 4 million m3 of leveling soil and 20 thousand m3 of clay for bricks and tiles. Total revenue from mineral exploitation activities reached more than 367 billion VND.
In the context of the 2025-2026 period, Gia Lai is simultaneously implementing many large-scale transport infrastructure projects, leading to a sharp increase in demand for construction materials. This poses an urgent requirement to strengthen the management of mineral exploitation, transportation and consumption activities.
Over the past time, functional agencies have handled 9 violating enterprises in the field of mineral exploitation, with a total fine of more than 1.178 billion VND.
To prevent tax revenue loss, the province plans to put into operation a Unified Monitoring System, integrating data from cameras, weighing stations and the WebGIS mineral platform. This system will help monitor and manage actual mining output at mines in real time, contributing to transparency of mining activities.
Along with that, the Chairman of the Commune-level People's Committee will be fully responsible before the law and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee if illegal mineral exploitation occurs, causing resource loss and budget revenue loss in the area.
The Tax sector also strengthens inspection and post-inspection of the use of invoices, documents and dossiers proving the origin of minerals. For cases with signs of tax evasion or the use of illegal invoices to legalize illegally exploited minerals, dossiers will be transferred to the Police agency for investigation and handling according to legal regulations.
