In the past 24 hours, the highest peak tide level of the day at most stations on the Saigon River has increased rapidly but is still low.
It is forecasted that the water level at most stations on the Saigon River will continue to increase rapidly according to the high tide of the full moon of the seventh lunar month in the next 5-6 days. The highest tide peak in this period is likely to appear on August 30-31.8 (ie July 18-19 of the lunar calendar).
At Phu An and Nha Be stations, the peak tide is likely to reach 1.38-1.43 m, close to alarm level I. At Thu Dau Mot station, the water level may reach 1.45-1.50 m, close to or lower than alarm level II by about 0.05 m. The highest peak tide appears during the day around 5-7 am and 5-7 pm.
Functional agencies warn that it is necessary to prevent heavy rain coinciding with the peak tide, which can cause flooding in low-lying areas, riverside areas, affecting traffic and socio-economic activities in Ho Chi Minh City.
Today, the South has a lot of sunshine, cloudy changes; thunderstorms increase in the late afternoon. In the morning and noon, sunshine is the main weather condition, the highest temperature is commonly 31-34 degrees C, especially in the East, some places above 34 degrees C.
From noon, thunderstorms begin to develop, causing localized rain. In the afternoon and evening, rain increases in both area and amount, appearing scattered over about 2/3 of the area. Rain areas are concentrated in Lam Dong, Dong Nai, North Tay Ninh, coastal An Giang and Ca Mau.
On August 27th, thunderstorms in the late afternoon are forecast to increase slightly.
