Ho Chi Minh City currently records 34 roads still flooded, including 26 roads flooded due to rain and 8 roads flooded due to high tides.

On June 25, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction said that from the beginning of 2026 to now, the city has recorded 37 rains with rainfall from 10 mm to over 80 mm, including 10 heavy rains with rainfall exceeding 50 mm.

Heavy rains often last from 1 - 2 hours, putting significant pressure on the drainage system and causing localized flooding in many areas.

According to statistics from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, there are currently 26 roads flooded due to rain with an average depth of 10 - 30 cm.

The flooded locations include Vo Van Kiet - Ho Hoc Lam intersection (An Lac ward), Ung Van Khiem street (Thanh My Tay ward), Pham Van Chieu (An Hoi Dong ward), Phan Huy Ich (An Hoi Tay ward), National Highway 22 parallel road (Ba Diem commune), Phan Van Hon, Nguyen Van Qua (Dong Hung Thuan commune), Duong Van Cam, Kha Van Can, Dang Thi Ranh, Tam Tam Xa (Thu Duc market area), Provincial Road 43, Le Thi Hoa (Tam Binh ward).

There are also many flooded points in the Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau areas after being merged into Ho Chi Minh City such as Binh Duong Avenue (Lai Thieu ward), Cach Mang Thang Tam street section of Cau Nho cross culvert (Thuan An ward), National Highway 1K area from Chu Hoa slope to Cai Cau canal, Binh Thang stream area (Dong Hoa ward), Cong intersection of Thich Quang Duc street, Bung Cai canal road (Thu Dau Mot ward), Ho Van Cong - National Highway 13 (Chanh Hiep ward), Thi Sach street in front of Vung Tau High School, Vo Nguyen Giap street at the foot of Co May bridge and Eo Ong Tu area, 30.4 road section from Le Quang Dinh to Nguyen Huu Canh.

Besides flooding due to rain, Ho Chi Minh City also recorded 8 roads affected by high tides, mainly located in riverside areas, low-lying areas and with many canals and ditches.

The routes include: Tran Xuan Soan (Tan Thuan ward), Huynh Tan Phat (Phu Thuan ward), Pham Huu Lau (Tan My ward), Dao Su Tich and Nguyen Binh (Nha Be commune), Nguyen Van Huong (An Khanh ward), Vo Nguyen Giap (Phuoc Long ward) and the expanded Decoimex area (Tam Thang ward).

While waiting for large-scale flood control projects to be implemented, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction said it is focusing on maintaining and operating existing technical infrastructure systems.

Implemented solutions include dredging sewers, discharge gates and canals that are silted up; collecting garbage at water intake outlets; repairing degraded sewers; replacing manhole covers with net covers to increase water intake capacity; expanding intake outlets and clearing bottlenecks.

The city is also applying an online flood warning system and FEDS decision-making support funded by the World Bank; operating tide control valves, pumping stations, tide control culverts; and building retaining walls and spillway ramps in areas at high risk of flooding.

In addition, functional units regularly update flood information on traffic electronic boards so that people can proactively choose suitable routes during heavy rain or high tides.
