From June 15 to 29, Coast Guard Region 4 Command coordinated with the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of An Giang Provincial Party Committee to organize conferences to propagate and disseminate the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard and legal regulations on combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing in 7 communes and special zones in An Giang province.
Accordingly, propaganda work was organized in the communes: Thanh Loc, Tan Hoi, Dong Hung, Van Khanh, Dong Thai, Hon Nghe and Tho Chau special zone, attracting nearly 1000 officials, party members, people and fishermen to participate.
In localities, Reporters of Coast Guard Region 4 Command introduced the basic contents of the Vietnam Coast Guard Law; propagated legal documents related to seafood exploitation activities at sea; and at the same time thoroughly grasped the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State on preventing and combating IUU fishing. Thereby contributing to raising awareness and awareness of law compliance for officials, people and fishermen, joining hands with all levels and sectors to prevent and move towards ending IUU fishing.
The series of propaganda activities aims to continue to improve the effectiveness of dissemination and legal education; build a sense of self-discipline in law compliance, and the responsibility of fishermen in seafood exploitation associated with protecting the sea and island sovereignty of the Fatherland. At the same time, strengthen the solidarity and close relationship between the army and people; promote the overall strength of the entire political system and the entire people in performing the task of managing and protecting sovereignty, maintaining security, order, and safety in the sea and island areas of the Fatherland.
On this occasion, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command presented 70 gifts (each worth 1 million VND) to policy families and families of fishermen in difficult circumstances (10 gifts at each location). Along with that, the unit organized the distribution of propaganda materials and leaflets; presented national flags, medical medicine bags and photos of Uncle Ho to fishermen.
The activity contributes practically to effectively implementing the quality of mass mobilization work "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen" has been signed by the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Coast Guard Party Committee with the Standing Committee of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee, building a "people's heart formation" at sea, improving the effectiveness of coordination between Coast Guard Region 4 Command and local Party committees and authorities in propagating and mobilizing fishermen to strictly comply with the law when operating at sea and well implement social security activities in the area.
