Knock on doors to encourage workers to learn a trade
Ms. Phan Thi Khuyen - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ea Toh Commune, Krong Nang District said: "In the past time, the People's Committee of the commune has implemented many different ways to help unemployed workers in the area have stable jobs. From there, helping people gradually rise out of poverty sustainably".
According to Ms. Khuyen, the local approach is to send cadres to the grassroots, to villages and hamlets, to knock on the doors of ethnic minorities who do not have stable jobs to encourage them to participate in vocational training.
"For those who do not clearly understand the purpose of vocational training, we persevere and campaign many times to change their perception," Ms. Khuyen added.
According to Ms. Khuyen, in reality, mobilizing and encouraging people to go to vocational school is not a simple task. They think that going to vocational school will cost money, waste time and may not lead to a job.
"The commune has coordinated with the relevant departments to train vocational groups such as garment, construction, animal husbandry, cultivation... After learning these vocational groups, people can immediately apply them to develop their family economy and there are also businesses in the district that recruit and work with stable salaries" - Ms. Khuyen affirmed.
For example, Mr. Trieu Viet Tue (Tay ethnic, in Krong Nang district) participated in a class on planting and caring for agricultural plants organized by the Commune People's Committee and the Center for Vocational Education and Continuing Education of Krong Nang district.
After completing the training course, with the existing agricultural land, Mr. Tue improved the land and developed agricultural products.
"Although I encountered many difficulties in farming, thanks to my life experience and the knowledge I have learned, I have achieved initial success. The coffee garden intercropped with other crops has yielded good results, with a stable income, and my family's life has become less difficult," Mr. Tue affirmed.
Contribute to forming a team of professional farmers
According to the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education of Krong Nang district, from the beginning of 2023 to the end of August 2024, the unit opened 14 vocational training classes in localities for nearly 500 students.
Most of the people participating in vocational training are ethnic minorities, people with little experience in production and business development...
The exciting thing is that 100% of students after studying have jobs, or create their own jobs, increasing income for themselves and their families.
Also according to the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education of Krong Nang district, from now until the end of 2024, the unit will focus on agricultural vocational training to form a team of professional farmers.
The unit's goal is to help local workers become the main force in the process of rural economic development.
"To have real results, during the implementation of vocational training classes, the unit will regularly and continuously monitor and supervise teaching and learning" - Mr. Nong Duc Nam - Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education, Krong Nang district shared.
