Make a list of hunters
On May 20, a working delegation led by Mr. Tran Truong Giang - Deputy Director of Vinh Long Department of Agriculture and Environment - surveyed and worked on the management of Hai Chia Bird Garden (Tra Con commune), in order to strengthen the protection of ecosystems, biodiversity and control wild bird hunting. Participating were departments, branches and related localities. The delegation surveyed the reality, recorded the current situation and exchanged solutions to manage and protect wild bird flocks.
At the working session, Mr. Nguyen Van Nhieu - Vice Chairman of Tra Con Commune People's Committee - said that after merging the area, the commune government has received feedback on bird hunting in the area.
The Commune Police force has coordinated to propagate, remind and prevent many violations.
Mr. Nhieu said that the locality agreed to continue to maintain and protect Hai Chia Bird Garden, identifying this as an area with ecological value that needs to be preserved, and at the same time requested functional sectors to support patrols, propaganda and management. Regarding the bird garden promotion model proposed by the Department of Science and Technology with a budget of about 300 million VND, the locality and Mr. Chia's household have agreed to receive it for implementation.
Mr. Nguyen Tran Phong - Head of Tra Con Commune Police informed that the police force has compiled a list of subjects with bird hunting behaviors, and at the same time reminded and deterred 8 violations, including subjects from neighboring areas. In the coming time, the commune police will continue to strengthen propaganda, inspection, supervision and strictly handle acts of encroachment on bird gardens.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Be Nam - Deputy Head of the Economic Police Department, Vinh Long Provincial Police - said that functional forces have invited 8 bird hunters in the area and surrounding areas to work, combined with deterrence and education. At the same time, review information on the network, handle false content; propose to strengthen coordination in patrols, clarify management responsibilities, handle the environment and be cautious in mobilizing sponsorship and sharing information.
Strengthen coordination, strictly protect Hai Chia bird garden
Speaking at the conclusion of the working session, Mr. Tran Truong Giang - Deputy Director of Vinh Long Department of Agriculture and Environment - highly appreciated the efforts of the local government and management households in protecting Hai Chia Bird Garden, and at the same time acknowledged the active involvement of functional forces in the past time. Mr. Truong Giang emphasized the requirement for units to continue to strengthen close coordination between the commune police force and the forest ranger force in the management, patrol, control, and protection of wildlife in the area. The coordination must be carried out regularly and continuously, not allowing hotspots for bird hunting to form.
Mr. Tran Truong Giang requested the management household of Hai Chia Bird Garden to be cautious in mobilizing sponsorship, receiving socialized resources and providing information on cyberspace, avoiding misunderstandings and arising complex issues affecting general management work. Leaders of the survey delegation affirmed that functional agencies and local authorities will continue to closely monitor the area, coordinate synchronously and drastically to strictly protect Hai Chia Bird Garden, contributing to preserving the ecosystem, biodiversity conservation and sustainable development of the area. "All opinions will be summarized and submitted to the Provincial People's Committee to soon have solutions to protect the bird garden" - Mr. Giang added.
