On June 4, Cho Lon Traffic Police Team, Ho Chi Minh City Police Traffic Police Department (PC08) set up a speed checkpoint on Vo Van Kiet Street (District 5).
In just about 1 hour of setting up the checkpoint, the Working Group detected 28 violations, including 2 cases of driving at a speed exceeding the prescribed speed limit by more than 20 km/h; 5 cases of speeding by 10-20 km/h and 21 cases of speeding by 5 to less than 10 km/h.

At around 10:30 a.m., the traffic police discovered that Mr. L.A.T (born in 2001) was working as a technology shipper to drive a motorbike exceeding the prescribed speed by 65 50%/h, so they asked Mr. T to stop the vehicle for inspection.
Mr. T said: "I was delivering goods to customers, taking advantage of the opportunity to run around to find new orders, so I didn't pay attention to the speed sign. The next day, I will learn from experience".
For this violation, Mr. T was fined VND900,000 by the traffic police.

Another case was Mr. N.T.H driving a vehicle at a speed exceeding the prescribed speed limit of 63 50%/h. Mr. H could not present a driver's license.
For this violation, Mr. H was fined twice for speeding and driving without a driver's license with a total fine of nearly 4 million VND. The traffic police also sealed and temporarily impounded Mr. H's vehicle.

At around 11am, the traffic police continued to discover the case of Mr. V.M.H (60 years old, from Long An) driving a vehicle at a speed exceeding the prescribed speed limit of 58/50km/h.
At first, when working with the traffic police, Mr. H thought that he did not violate the law and was not driving at the speed limit. However, when the traffic police showed him a picture of the violation and explained that the lane he had just driven was only allowed to run at 50km/h, Mr. H admitted his mistake and agreed to sign the violation record.
Mr. H said that just after coming out of the hospital, he violated the law by seeing the wrong sign in the car lane. "I have retired, with a pension of only over 3 million VND per month. I have been sick, hospitalized, and spent a lot of money. It is very difficult," Mr. H explained.
Understanding Mr. H's situation, a traffic police officer in the working group encouraged him and asked Mr. H to coordinate with the working group to make a record according to regulations, after which this traffic police comrade supported Mr. H with money to pay the fine.
According to Decree 168/2024/ND-CP effective from January 1, 2025, drivers of motorbikes and mopeds exceeding the prescribed speed by 5 to under 10 km/h will be fined from 400,000-600,000 VND.
