President Donald Trump would like to thank General Secretary and President Xi Jinping for his invitation to visit China.

Xinhua News Agency reported that during a phone call on June 5 at the request of US President Donald Trump, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping emphasized that dialogue and cooperation are the only correct choice for China-US relations.

Mr. Tap Can Binh said that adjusting the direction of the "giant ship" in the relationship between the two countries requires both sides to have a firm grasp of the steering wheel and determine the correct direction. He emphasized the importance of staying away from causing harassment and disruption.

Referring to the recent meeting on economy and trade in Geneva - held at the initiative of the US side, the General Secretary and President of China said that this is an important step forward in resolving issues through dialogue and consultation. The meeting received a positive reception from both society and the international community.

The two sides need to make good use of the existing economic and trade consultation mechanism, in the spirit of equality and mutual respect, to jointly aim for mutually beneficial results. Mr. Xi Jinping emphasized that China is ready for dialogue with goodwill, but is also steadfast in its principles.

The General Secretary and President of China affirmed that Beijing always respects and seriously implements the commitments made. He called on both sides to fully implement the agreements reached in Geneva, and said that China is seriously implementing the agreed contents. He suggested that the US side recognize the progress achieved and remove negative measures against China.

Mr. Tap Can Binh also called on the two sides to increase exchanges in areas such as foreign affairs, economy - trade, defense and law enforcement, to promote consensus, resolve misunderstandings and enhance cooperation.

Regarding the issue of Taiwan (China), General Secretary and President Xi Jinping emphasized that the US side needs to handle it cautiously, avoiding allowing the breakaway forces pursuing "Independent Taiwan" to lure China and the US into a state of confrontation, even conflict.

President Donald Trump expressed his deep respect for General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and emphasized the importance of US-China relations. He said the US hopes for China's economy to develop well and believes that the two countries, if they cooperate, can achieve many great achievements.

The US president affirmed that Washington will adhere to the "One China" policy. He appreciated the results of the meeting in Geneva, saying that this was a great success and pledged that the US side would work with China to implement this agreement.

President Donald Trump also expressed his goodwill to welcome Chinese students to study in the US. He thanked General Secretary and President Xi Jinping for his invitation to visit China and expressed his appreciation.

The two leaders agreed that the working groups of the two countries will continue to implement the Geneva agreement and soon organize the next round of negotiations.
