The school applies 3 admission methods, including: Direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET); Admission results of valid competency assessment exams (HSA) of Hanoi National University; Admission scores for high school graduation exam 2025.
Notably, a series of majors are no longer considered for admission based on traditional C00 block combinations such as: Journalism; Social work; Dong Phuocology; Korean studies; Management science; Public Relations; Information Management; Tourism and travel service management; Hotel management...
Meanwhile, last year the school considered the C00 combination for 26/28 majors (except for Southeast Asian studies and Japan studies). This year, only 9/28 training majors are considered for admission using the C00 combination.

Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters about this issue, Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi said that 2025 is the first year to organize the high school graduation exam according to the 2018 General Education Program.
According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates taking the graduation exam will take 2 compulsory subjects: Literature and Mathematics and 2 elective subjects from the remaining subjects studied in grade 12, including: Foreign Language, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology.
With the new exam form from 2025, it is theoretically possible to encode it into 36 graduation exam combinations (2+2) and 81 university admission combinations on the basis of combining compulsory and optional exam subjects of candidates.
On the basis of the innovation orientation of graduation exam subjects applied since 2025, according to the enrollment requirements of each industry, the requirements of foreign language output standards as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training, and at the same time implementing the internationalization strategy of training programs, University of Social Sciences and Humanities to enhance selection
In particular, full-time students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have the opportunity to study a second major from the school's training majors. For example, Journalism, Tourism and Travel Services Management, Public Relations, Psychology, International Studies, Hotel Management, Office Management, Information Management, Culture... or from many other training majors in schools under Hanoi National University.
