The Vietnam Road Administration has just issued an official dispatch requesting Departments of Construction of provinces and cities to urgently implement solutions to strengthen traffic safety assurance and improve the effectiveness of state management of passenger transport activities by cars.
According to the telegram, implementing Official Dispatch No. 51/CD-TTg dated July 21, 2026 of the Prime Minister on overcoming the consequences of particularly serious traffic accidents in Dong Nai city and the direction of the Ministry of Construction, the Vietnam Road Administration requests Departments of Construction to direct transport business units to urgently review comprehensively the work of ensuring safety in the unit's operations.
At the same time, units must strictly implement the provisions of law on business and conditions for automobile transport business.
The Vietnam Road Administration also requests transport business units to strengthen supervision of the compliance with regulations on continuous driving time of drivers; promptly assign and supplement drivers, especially for vehicles operating at night.
Notably, the telegram clearly states that when an incident or traffic accident occurs, in addition to considering the responsibility of the driver, it is necessary to consider the responsibility of the safety management department at the transport business unit to improve the operational efficiency of this department.
Regarding state management, the Vietnam Road Administration requests Departments of Construction of provinces and cities to immediately implement specific solutions to rectify and strengthen traffic safety assurance in transport business activities.
At the same time, Departments of Construction of provinces and cities establish inspection teams to inspect and handle violations in transport business activities, especially focusing on inspecting and reviewing the organization of activities of safety management departments at transport business units.
The Vietnam Road Administration also requested the Directors of Departments of Construction of provinces and cities and relevant agencies and units to seriously implement the telegram; promptly report difficulties and obstacles arising during the implementation process for guidance and handling.
According to the Vietnam Road Administration, the implementation of the above contents aims to strengthen traffic safety assurance and improve the efficiency of state management of passenger transport by car.
