Initial information, at around 9am on January 10, people walking on Le Van Khuong Street (District 12) heard a loud noise. When they went to check, they discovered an accident between a garbage truck and a bicycle.
According to witnesses, the garbage truck was moving on Le Van Khuong Street (District 12) towards National Highway 1A, when it reached the intersection for vehicles turning right onto National Highway 1A, 30m from the Tan Thoi Hiep overpass intersection in Tan Thoi Hiep Ward, District 12, it suddenly had an accident with an old man riding a bicycle.
The collision caused the bicycle and the old man to be dragged under the truck. Many people came to see the old man motionless and immediately called an ambulance to the scene.
Immediately after receiving the news, the police force of District 12 arrived at the scene to handle the incident. The accident caused traffic congestion on Le Van Khuong Street, which continues through the intersection with Tan Thoi Hiep overpass.
At the scene, after first aid, the old man regained consciousness, but suffered multiple injuries and was in critical condition. His bicycle was dented and deformed.
District 12 Police are extracting security cameras and investigating and handling according to regulations.
