On the evening of February 25, on the Lo Te - Rach Soi route section passing through Thanh Quoi commune, Can Tho city, a serious traffic accident occurred, killing 1 person.
Accordingly, at about 9:20 pm, a container truck with Ho Chi Minh City license plate was traveling in the direction of Vam Cong - Rach Soi. When it reached the construction section, at the location of the median strip temporarily opened for official vehicles, the driver (58 years old) turned the car around.
At this moment, 2 trucks with Can Tho and Dong Thap license plates came and crashed strongly into the rear of the container.
The collision caused the driver of the truck with Can Tho license plate (26 years old) to be seriously injured and trapped in the cabin. The victim was taken to the emergency room but did not survive. The other truck driver was slightly injured.
Quick inspection showed that the drivers had no alcohol concentration and were negative for drugs.
Initially, the container driver said that because he got lost, he turned around in the construction area. The accident caused traffic congestion for many kilometers. Can Tho City Police are investigating to clarify the cause.
