The Office of the Government has just sent an official dispatch to the Ministries of Transport, Planning and Investment; and the People's Committees of Lam Dong and Khanh Hoa provinces to convey the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on the investment project to build the Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa province) - Da Lat (Lam Dong province) expressway.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha assigned the Ministry of Transport to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Planning and Investment and relevant agencies to review the proposal of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa - Lam Dong inter-provincial project and report to the Prime Minister before October 30, 2024.
Previously, the two above localities had submitted a proposal to the Prime Minister to allow the implementation of investment in the construction of the Project before 2030; prioritize adding the project to the investment portfolio from the central budget in the medium-term plan for the period 2026 - 2030 of the transport sector; and at the same time approve the investment plan under the PPP method, BOT contract type to submit to the National Assembly for approval of the investment policy.
The leaders of the two provinces agreed to propose that the head of the Government assign the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province to be the competent authority for the PPP project to invest in the construction of the Nha Trang - Da Lat expressway.
According to the proposal, the Nha Trang - Da Lat expressway construction investment project has its starting point intersecting with the North - South expressway in the East at Dien Tho commune, Dien Khanh district, Khanh Hoa province; its end point intersecting with the Lien Khuong - Prenn expressway (at the foot of Prenn pass), at Ward 3, Da Lat city.
The total length of the project route is 80.8km, of which the section passing through Khanh Hoa province is about 44km, and the section passing through Lam Dong province is about 36.8km.
The project is proposed to be invested in one time according to the planning scale with 4 complete lanes. The project route is parallel to National Highway 27C for about 1 - 7 km. On the route, it is planned to arrange 5 interconnecting intersections, an average of 20km/intersection, of which the section through Khanh Hoa has 2 intersections, the section through Lam Dong has 3 intersections; 2 tunnel construction locations with a length of 1,440-1,560m; 12 bridges with a length of 488-1,048m.
The project has a preliminary total investment of about 25,058 billion VND. The project implementation period is from 2024 to 2028, in which the construction investment phase is from 2026 - 2028.
