Accordingly, at about 8:15 pm on September 20, Tan Doan Commune Police received a report from Mr. Hoang Van Quan, 39 years old, about his biological father leaving home at about 10 am on the same day but not returning.
The family could not contact him and could not determine where he was.
At the time of leaving home, Mr. Dung was wearing shorts, a long-sleeved shirt, a yellow palm hat and did not bring a mobile phone.
According to his family, he has a history of neurological illness and often walks up to the forest area in the area.
Before reporting to the police, relatives contacted friends and relatives and searched in some places Mr. Dung often visited but without results.
Immediately after receiving the information, Tan Doan Commune Police mobilized officers and security and order protection teams at the grassroots level to coordinate with families and a large number of people to search overnight.
The forces are divided into many groups, reviewing inter-village roads, trails, rice fields, hills and forest areas.
Flycams are also put into use to observe from above, supporting the screening of deep forest areas, dangerous terrain, and difficult to access by road.
Information and identifying characteristics of the missing person are also posted on Zalo groups for people to coordinate in providing clues.
The search faced many difficulties due to the wide range, complex terrain, many slopes, while the darkness limited visibility.
In the early morning of September 21, the forces continued to expand the search area. At about 9:10 am, police officers of Tan Doan commune discovered Mr. Dung lying in the Ho Luong rice field, belonging to Tong Han village.
When found, the man showed signs of exhaustion, slow reaction due to exhaustion.
The commune police coordinated with the family to take him out of the rice field, transfer him to a medical facility for emergency treatment, check-ups and health monitoring.
