On June 23, Mr. Hoang Manh Ha, Chairman of Truong Son Commune People's Committee, said that the Commune People's Committee has just issued a document requesting to strengthen the implementation of legal regulations on environmental protection for stone mining and transportation activities in the area.
Limestone mining units in the area including Hoa Phat Trading and Transportation Co., Ltd., Bao Ninh Trading & Service Joint Stock Company, Thuc Linh Co., Ltd. and The Thinh Corporation Co., Ltd. are required to strictly implement commitments on environmental protection; mine exploitation in accordance with the mine design, at the permitted capacity and carry out blasting according to the time approved by competent authorities.
Businesses are not allowed to load and unload goods exceeding the permitted load; do not transport minerals through residential areas from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 5:00 AM the next day. Transport vehicles must be fully covered with tarpaulins, not allowing materials to fall and cause traffic unsafety and environmental pollution.
The Commune People's Committee also requested units to increase water spraying in the processing area and on transportation routes to limit dust spread; proactively repair damaged road sections, support and compensate for damage to affected people according to regulations.

In addition, the Commune Police and related units are assigned to strengthen inspection and supervision of mineral exploitation and transportation activities; strictly handle cases of violations of regulations on environmental protection, vehicle load and traffic safety.
Truong Son Commune People's Committee also requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Provincial Department of Industry and Trade to continue to inspect and examine the compliance with legal regulations of stone mining enterprises in the area to ensure environmental and safety in mineral exploitation activities.
According to Truong Son Commune People's Committee, in the past time, limestone exploitation and transportation activities have affected the environment, health, lives and property of people. In particular, households in Khe Ngang, Khe May villages and Rao Tru village have repeatedly reflected on the situation of rock dust and noise arising from mining activities. Especially in Rao Tru village, heavy trucks regularly circulate through residential areas, causing dust and noise, affecting people's living environment.
Regarding this issue, Lao Dong Newspaper has published an article "Rock dust covers houses, people's lives are seriously affected", reflecting the situation of hundreds of households in Truong Son commune being affected by rock dust and noise from mineral exploitation activities for many years.
After Lao Dong Newspaper reflected, the Provincial People's Committee also issued a document assigning the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches, units and localities to inspect, clarify the content and report the results to the Provincial People's Committee before June 30, 2026.
