According to Auto1 news site, Audi has revealed the 2025 product range for the US market but lacks the A5 Coupe and A5 Cabriolet. This move shows that the company is preparing to discontinue 2-door hardtop and convertible cars .
Audi's phasing out of 2-door models began in 2019, starting with the discontinuation of the A3 Cabriolet. This trend continued the following year with the removal of the TT Roadster and TT Coupe from the product range. Most recently, the final departure of the R8 marked the end of the mid-engine R8 Coupe and Spyder supercars.
The A5 product line currently includes only two variants: the A5 Sedan (technically a facelift) and the A5 Avant. Both models are available in the S5 version and the RS5 model is coming soon.
Coupe and convertible models are facing many difficulties in competing with other car models. The reason is because users often prioritize choosing 4-door models to have large, comfortable space during travel.
Also according to Motor1, in the coming years, Audi plans to stop producing the A1 small crossover and Q2 small crossover after the current generation. This strategic decision allows the company to prioritize its more successful products.
