Mr. Nguyen Hiep shared that he violated traffic laws when driving a motorbike. His case was subject to temporary detention of the integrated driving license (A1, C) for 23 months (from November 14, 2023).
On August 21, 2024, his C-class driver's license expired, and he completed the procedures to change it, which he has not been able to do so far.
Mr. Hiep asked if he could be reissued, would he have to retake the theory test (because he had completed the procedures for reissuance according to regulations from the expiration date to less than 3 months under the old law).
Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Construction responded as follows:
According to the provisions of Clause 2, Article 34 of Circular No. 35/2024/TT-BGTVT, in Mr. Nguyen Hiep's case, his Class C driving license has expired since August 21, 2024. Therefore, he will need to retake the test to be reissued a Class C driver's license.
He is having his integrated driving license confiscated, so he cannot do the procedures to change or reissue the driving license and must wait for the expiration of the driving license to register for re-examination.
