From the haunting fear of "how to avoid the cow
Ms. Quynh Huong, 25 years old, a tax official currently participating in learning to get a car driving license at the Driving Training Center at Thanh Do University (Hoai Duc, Hanoi) expressed her joy when she heard the information that the simulation test was removed.
“I have been studying at the Center since the beginning of the year," Ms. Huong said, "and I plan to take the exam to get my degree in July. Honestly, during the learning process, the simulation test is the biggest nightmare because despite practicing a lot on the computer, pressing the button to match the time in the test is not easy at all. Even in reality, in a similar situation, drivers can handle it earlier but do not get the correct answer.
For example, the situation where the cow appears, normally you can brake earlier, but in the exam, sometimes you have to wait for the cow to get down to the road surface to be accurate. I am so obsessed that in my dreams I also startled to avoid the cow. Therefore, I support the removal of this simulated sát hạnh part.
Ms. Huong is a student who is somewhat lucky because she was tested after deciding to drop out of the simulation part. Mr. Ngoc Anh in Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi said: "I have taken the exam 3-4 times and all failed the simulation part even though I firmly grasped theory and practice. The most important thing is that the situations handled in the exam are not true to reality, so reviewing not only causes frustration but also takes the time and effort of learners.
Even driving instructors see inadequacies. Mr. Hoang Minh Hoang - a driving instructor in Long Bien ward (Hanoi) shared: "In fact, when participating in traffic, drivers have many plans to be safe for themselves, and there is no need to be at the right time, like in the simulation test. Removing this test part also relieves pressure for both teachers and learners.
Removing simulation doesn't mean it's easier to test
Teacher Minh Hoang also added: "Removing the mock exam does not mean that the aptitude test will be easier. The theory and practice parts will be added to be closer to the current traffic reality.
According to the Traffic Police Department, the new regulations on testing have more stringent content, suitable for the reality of transportation activities, ensuring that licensed people have driving ethics such as not daring to drive recklessly, disregarding the law, and having good skills when driving on the road.
Students must take exams sequentially from theory to two practical and situational exams with motorcycles; take exams from theory - simulation - long-distance road with cars, and must pass those parts of the exam in turn before taking the next part.
The number of theoretical questions in the motorcycle test of Grade A, A1 increased from 25 questions to 40 questions, the test time increased from 19 minutes to 27 minutes, the test taker achieved success when answering 36/40 questions correctly.
The number of questions in the Grade B car test increased from 30 to 50 questions, the exam time increased from 20 minutes to 33 minutes, and the test taker achieved success when answering 45/50 questions correctly. Especially questions in the direction that the test taker cannot "learn tricks, test tricks".
The content of the motorcycle driving practice test supplements ways to handle simulated situations on the road such as: Handling situations from branch roads to main roads or from non-priority roads to priority roads; handling situations of turning around; handling overtaking situations... This is the supplement to replace the previous simulation test.
The driving practice test road section is at least 5 km long, must have moderate traffic density and ensure full traffic situations including: Intersections; intersections; branch roads to main roads or non-priority roads to priority roads; roundabouts, traffic lights, pedestrian crossings. Exam takers must take 12 tests.
