The Ministry of Construction has just sent a document to the Vietnam Register on approving the suspension of research on the Vietnam Motor Vehicle Testing Center investment project in Hop Thinh commune, Bac Ninh province at the request of the Vietnam Register.
The project has been researched since 2008, but to date, the goals, technology and design scope are no longer suitable for the new development context of the automobile industry, especially the trend of transitioning to electric vehicles, smart connected vehicles and automation.
According to the Ministry of Construction, stopping the research is in line with the policy of reviewing and eliminating non-feasible and inefficient public investment projects as directed by the Prime Minister.
The Vietnam Register will be fully responsible for the accuracy and completeness of data, information and content related to the project.
To meet the development goals of the automobile industry and ensure the full implementation of assigned functions and tasks, the Ministry of Construction assigns the Vietnam Register to continue to study, review, and propose the Vietnam Automobile Testing Center Project (if necessary) in accordance with the provisions of law on public investment and related regulations.
