On the afternoon of August 2nd, Highway Traffic Police Team No. 6 (Room 6, Traffic Police Department) said that it had made a record of administrative violation against a driver for reversing on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway.
During patrols and inspections to ensure traffic order and safety on the route, the task force discovered a car with license plate 79A-657. XX traveling in the direction of Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet and reversing at Km163, passing through Hai Ninh commune (Lam Dong province), near Cho Lau intersection.

Images show the car reversing on one lane, the adjacent lane is a stream of vehicles traveling at high speed, posing a risk of traffic accidents. Through working, the female driver presented papers in the name of D.T. H. (born in 1981, residing in Khanh Hoa province). Functional forces made a record of administrative violation against the driver for the act of reversing on the highway.
According to current regulations, for this violation, the vehicle operator will be fined 35 million VND and deduct 10 points from the driver's license.
Representatives of Highway Traffic Police Team No. 6 said that reversing on the highway is a particularly dangerous act, which can lead to serious accidents because vehicles on the route are moving at high speed. Vehicle drivers must absolutely not stop, reverse or turn around on the highway in any form, except in cases where priority vehicles are performing tasks according to the provisions of law.
The Traffic Police force also recommends that if driving beyond the exit at intersections, drivers should continue to move to the next intersection to turn around according to regulations.
