Accordingly, the police of various units and localities inspected, detected and handled 4,835 violations; imposed fines of more than VND16 billion; temporarily detained 62 cars, 2,222 motorbikes, and 34 other vehicles; revoked 283 driving licenses of all types, and deducted driving license points from 820 cases.
Of which, 2,012 cases were handled for alcohol concentration violations; 974 cases for speeding violations; 4 cases for overloading goods; 27 cases for carrying more people than the prescribed number; and 8 cases for drug violations.
Regarding traffic accidents, the Traffic Safety Committee said that according to the report of the Ministry of Public Security, there were 56 traffic accidents nationwide, killing 33 people and injuring 52 people. Compared to the same period in 2024, there were 18 fewer accidents, 2 fewer deaths, and 11 fewer injuries.
However, there was a notable serious accident in Nam Dinh. At about 3:00 p.m. on January 30, 2025, at km 153+500 of National Highway 21 in Nam Van ward, Nam Dinh city, Nam Dinh province, Ms. N.T.D, born in 1964, currently residing in Ton That Thiep, Dien Bien ward, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi city (with a class B1 driver's license issued by the Hanoi Department of Transport) drove a car with license plate 30G - 156.XX (7-seat type) on National Highway 21 in the direction of Co Le town to Nam Dinh city.
There were a total of 9 people in the car (including 2 children born in 2017 and 2023). When they reached the above area, they drove themselves into the ditch next to the road. The accident resulted in 7 deaths at the scene and 2 injuries.
The initial preliminary cause was that the car was moving when it turned to the right, hit the guardrail, and then plunged into the ditch next to the road, without colliding with people or other vehicles.

On the second day of Tet, traffic volume on the highway from Dong Nai to Binh Thuan increased, cars moved slowly on many sections, especially on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay and Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay highways.
Tan Son Nhat Airport Operations Center said that on January 31 (the third day of Tet), Tan Son Nhat Airport served 889 flights, with a total expected passenger load of 136,730.
According to authorities, the number of passengers passing through the airport was high, but there was no overcrowding. At the international terminal, passengers lined up to check in. However, all activities at the airport went smoothly, and additional forces were deployed to serve passengers during Tet.
