Comprehensive support, from human resources, equipment...
Hanoi Medical University Hospital and Vinh Hung Ward Health Station (Hanoi) have just announced comprehensive cooperation and inaugurated the General Clinic of Hanoi Medical University Hospital - Vinh Hung facility.
The clinic is scientifically arranged with a system of nearly 30 clinics, testing rooms and closed functional areas, ensuring convenient examination procedures, from reception, diagnosis, testing, endoscopy, to daytime accommodation. Clinical and paraclinical specialties are well organized, meeting diverse initial and in-depth medical examination and treatment needs for people.
Key specialties deployed at the clinic include: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Ear, Nose, Throat, Odonto-Stomatology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, along with paraclinical services such as testing, diagnostic imaging, functional exploration... contributing to supporting accurate diagnosis, effective and safe treatment for patients.
Notably, the clinic is equipped with many modern and synchronous medical equipment according to the standards of Hanoi Medical University Hospital to serve the diagnosis and monitoring of diseases quickly and accurately, including equipment that is first put into use in Vietnam.
Dr. Nguyen Trong Dien, Director of Hanoi Department of Health, said: This is a modern health model, with high spillover effect, taking people as the center. This cooperation is not only about professional support but also about "comprehensive support", from human resources, equipment to technology transfer. Hanoi Medical University Hospital has brought both people and high-quality medical services to residential areas, helping people in Vinh Hung ward access in-depth medical examination and treatment right where they live.
Comprehensive cooperation between commune and ward health stations and hospitals in Hanoi aims at the strategy that each commune and ward is supported by at least one hospital. With more than 120 public and private hospitals, Hanoi has many advantages to deploy this model on a large scale.

Each hospital can receive 3-4 health stations
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu, Director of Hanoi Medical University Hospital, said: This is the first model where a central-level hospital operates a medical examination and treatment facility in a commune or ward.
This approach aims at two goals, which are to promptly meet the health care needs of people (with sufficient means and high-quality human resources); and to "revive" the functions of health stations through timely support for health stations in performing immunization tasks, health education and communication, especially managing chronic non-communicable diseases (cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic lung disease...).
With the deployment of installing high-tech CT scans and ultrasounds, results images or paraclinical indications can be transmitted directly to Hanoi Medical University Hospital for consultation with leading experts.
From this cooperation, it is hoped that not only Hanoi Medical University Hospital but also many hospitals in the Capital in particular and the whole country in general can deploy according to the model that each hospital can receive three to four health stations and thus completely cover grassroots health facilities.
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu, in Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW of the Politburo as well as documents submitted to the upcoming Party Congress, it is emphasized that grassroots healthcare is the backbone of the people's health care system. However, it is necessary to organize new models, different from before. But each locality will have its own geopolitical characteristics, economic conditions, so each locality will find a suitable direction, then the development of new grassroots healthcare can be sustainable and truly successful.
We must make commune and ward health stations truly effective, not just having a newly built headquarters is enough, but also having practical equipment inside and having people" - Assoc. Prof. Hieu said.
