On April 5, information from the Da Nang City Center for Disease Control (CDC Da Nang), a working delegation led by BS.CKII Nguyen Dai Vinh - Director of the Da Nang City Center for Disease Control (CDC) chaired to inspect the work of preventing and controlling hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) and infectious diseases in the area.
At working sessions with local authorities and Song Vang and Song Kon commune health stations, the working delegation focused on exchanging views on direction, administration and coordination between departments and sectors. The delegation focused on evaluating the process of organizing and implementing professional activities, and at the same time recorded difficulties and obstacles to promptly remove them.
Directly inspecting kindergartens - areas at high risk of TCM cases, the delegation noted that schools have basically well implemented the measures according to instructions. Units have cleaned classrooms, disinfected toys and school supplies; organized children to wash their hands with soap and monitor their health daily to promptly notify parents when there are suspicious signs.
However, through actual surveys at the campus, kitchen and sanitation area, Da Nang CDC leaders noted some points that need to be further improved to ensure a ventilated and clean environment, especially during the period when the weather is favorable for disease development.
BS. Specialist II Nguyen Dai Vinh suggested that localities and educational institutions should not be subjective, and need to continue to strengthen propaganda to raise awareness for child caregivers.
Maintaining regular disease prevention measures, proactively detecting early and thoroughly handling outbreaks from the beginning is a key factor to limit spread," emphasized the Director of Da Nang CDC.
Previously, Da Nang City People's Committee issued an official dispatch requesting units to focus on controlling the TCM epidemic. In which, the Department of Health has the task of closely monitoring the epidemiological situation, ensuring sufficient medicines, supplies and treatment personnel; The Department of Education and Training directs kindergartens to strictly implement school hygiene regulations, closely coordinate with the health sector to promptly handle suspected cases, and prevent the epidemic from spreading widely.
