The Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City assigned the Department of Information and Communications to coordinate with the health sector to strengthen information and communication about the epidemic situation and disease prevention and control measures so that people can proactively and actively implement disease prevention measures according to the recommendations of the health sector.
According to the Ministry of Health, from the beginning of 2024 to now, the number of measles cases has increased more than 8 times compared to the same period in 2023 and tends to increase in some localities. In Ho Chi Minh City, on August 27, the City People's Committee announced a measles epidemic, a group B infectious disease, in the entire city.
To strengthen epidemic prevention and control, and prevent measles from spreading and breaking out in the community, the Ministry of Health requests the People's Committees of provinces and cities to direct units and localities to proactively implement epidemic prevention and control during the school year; implement measles vaccination and provide instructions and recommendations on measles prevention and control.
The Department of Health and local authorities at all levels closely monitor the development of the epidemic situation; proactively monitor, detect early, isolate and treat, prevent infection, and promptly handle outbreaks.
