On April 21, news from the Dak Lak Department of Health said that the unit had issued an official dispatch on strengthening management and propaganda on the use of milk and dairy products at treatment facilities.
Recently, the Dak Lak Department of Health has received many worrying feedback. Some health workers and individuals without expertise have consulted, introduced, and marketed milk products and nutritional supplements that are not in accordance with regulations at medical examination and treatment facilities.
This situation poses a potential risk of seriously affecting the quality of medical services and the rights of patients. The above action also violates current regulations on food management and advertising. Therefore, this department requires heads of medical units to urgently rectify.
Absolutely do not use the name of medical staff or medical uniforms to introduce commercial products in any form.
All activities of introducing, marketing, giving samples or selling milk products and functional foods within the premises of medical units are strictly prohibited. Specifically in corridors, examination areas, disease prevention, treatment areas, administrative areas...
If the violating unit is detected, the Department of Health will consider the responsibility of the head of the facility.
The Department of Health requires all medical staff to be disciplined in introducing and prescribing milk and functional foods when there are no clear professional instructions. This activity is absolutely not for commercial purposes or commissions.
Units need to strengthen internal inspection work. Violations discovered must be strictly handled according to regulations and immediately reported to the Department of Health.
Implement communication work to patients, clearly explaining that milk products and functional foods cannot replace medicine.
