On March 21, Da Nang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital said that two patients H.Q. N (7 years old) and H.Q. B (11 years old), residing in Phuoc Nang commune, Da Nang city, have officially been discharged from the hospital.
According to Da Nang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, after more than 12 days of treatment, the two children successfully quit the ventilator, breathed again on their own and gradually recovered their motor functions. By the time of discharge, the health of the two children was stable, and they could play and live normally like their peers.

Previously, on March 7, a family of 6 people in Phuoc Nang highland commune ate fermented fish together. After the meal, members showed symptoms of poisoning, in which 3 children had very severe progression, respiratory muscle paralysis, directly threatening their lives.
Faced with the emergency situation, the Da Nang City Department of Health issued a document requesting WHO in Vietnam to provide emergency detoxification drugs. Immediately, 5 batches of BAT (Botulism Antitoxin Heptavalent) drugs from international reserves were transported from Switzerland to Vietnam to treat patients.
