The University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital - Linh Dam facility under Hanoi National University is preparing to put into use a new facility to complete the construction of phase 1, with a scale of 500 beds in October.
This is the newest public hospital in Hanoi, located in Linh Dam - a densely populated area of the capital, with the immediate goal of developing into a university hospital with 500 beds and a Grade I general hospital, after 2030, it will become a special-class hospital when the overall development project phase 2 is implemented.
Sharing with Lao Dong reporter, Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Thanh, Principal of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, said that the project aims to build a model of a model university hospital, comprehensively applying high technology, digital governance and personalized medicine.
Phase 1 is expected to be put into operation at the end of October 2025, creating a premise for the synchronous and modern development in the field of medicine and pharmacy of the hospital system under the school.

Professor Thanh said that the school is oriented to build an advanced health - education - research ecosystem, contributing to improving training quality, serving the community and promoting digital transformation of health care.
Previously, the Hanoi Department of Planning and Architecture also announced a local adjustment to the planning in this hospital area. According to the new plan, the Hospital of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy - Linh Dam campus will be increased in scale from 500 to 1,200 beds, the construction floor area will increase nearly 2 times compared to the present, with 3 basements and a maximum of 17 upper floors.
The hospital is designed with multi-function including treatment, training, research, and application of high technology, meeting national and international standards.
