On the afternoon of September 4th, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 1 confirmed that on September 3rd, doctors from the Department of Functional Exploration, Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 1 intervened with endoscopy and successfully removed a foreign object from the rectum of a 14-year-old male student. The foreign object was identified as a cucumber about 20cm long.
After receiving and assessing the patient's condition, doctors prescribed interventional endoscopy to determine the location and characteristics of the foreign object and choose appropriate treatment methods.
The endoscopy results showed that the colorectal lens was normal. When the endoscopic tube was inserted into the sigmoid colon, the team discovered a foreign object in the rectum about 5 x 20cm in size, identified as a cucumber.
Under the direct implementation of BS.CKI Ha Huy Hung - Deputy Head of the Department of Functional Exploration, and the endoscopic team, doctors used specialized instruments to remove the foreign object through the anus. The intervention process was carried out carefully and correctly. The foreign object was successfully removed and the patient continued to be monitored at the hospital.
After being treated, the patient and his family sent a thank-you letter to Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 1, especially the collective of the Department of Functional Exploration and the team directly performing the procedure.
