Accordingly, the Food Safety and Hygiene Department (under the Department of Health of Phu Tho province) has just issued Report No. 236/BC-ATTSTP, providing information on the test results determining the cause and patient situation of the food poisoning case at Sunrise Apparel Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Hoang Xa Industrial Park, Thanh Thuy district).
The report stated that the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene Control issued Official Dispatch No. 498/VKNQG-KHĐT dated August 30 regarding the response to the test results of suspected food poisoning samples from the victim's vomit sample and the stored food sample (braised mackerel).
According to the results, the Histamine content in the vomit sample of a patient named TTNY was 6.22 mg/kg; the Histamine content in the stored food sample was 3806 mg/kg. Thereby, the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene determined that the cause of the food poisoning was suspected to be Histamine in the braised mackerel sample in the lunch of Sunrise Apparel Vietnam Company Limited on August 28.
Currently, the Food Safety and Hygiene Department is inspecting the compliance with food safety regulations at Hoang Thuy Trading and Service Company Limited and organizations/individuals supplying food and food ingredients to this company for use in processing and providing meals for Sunrise Apparel Vietnam Company Limited for lunch on August 28.
According to the report of Thanh Thuy District Medical Center, by 10:00 a.m. on August 30, the last patient of the above food poisoning case had been discharged from the hospital.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article about the incident in which more than 100 workers were suspected of food poisoning. The workers showed symptoms of rashes, headaches, nausea, etc. and were taken to Thanh Thuy District Medical Center and several local medical stations for examination and treatment.
