The most difficult exam in 6 years of medical school
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Tu - Principal of Hanoi Medical University said that more than 700 candidates who are new graduates of the school have just successfully registered for the 49th course of internal medicine residency.
"The candidates have passed the most difficult exam in 6 years of study - the Resident Doctor Exam and become candidates to register for the resident doctor major. This has been the training brand of Hanoi Medical University for the past 50 years, because the quality is at the most complete level in the doctor training system" - Professor Tu shared.
In 2024, the total enrollment target for resident doctors in all specialties is: 444 targets, including 423 targets for training resident doctors for Hanoi Medical University; 8 targets for training resident doctors for Hanoi Medical University Branch in Thanh Hoa province; 8 targets for training resident doctors for Yen Bai province and 5 targets for training resident doctors for Bac Giang province.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Tu shared: Residency is the most favorable path to success, not the only path to success. Prof. Nguyen Huu Tu hopes that those who do not achieve their wishes will choose another path, continue to nurture their passion if we have enough determination and effort.
The School Principal hopes that resident doctors will continue to spread and affirm the title "Resident Doctor of Hanoi Medical University" so that they can continue to be proud of the traditional, long-standing and valuable brand of the school; at the same time, to strive to maintain this brand.
Associate Professor, Dr. Le Minh Giang - Head of the Postgraduate Training Management Division said that some regulations for registering for majors are: Consider each major separately for Dentistry and Traditional Medicine; Candidates for General Medicine can register for all majors except the above 2 majors; Each candidate has a maximum of 30 seconds to clearly state their registration wishes; Each candidate only has a maximum of 1 registration right...
The hottest majors
Dr. Le Minh Giang emphasized a new point in this year's enrollment process: after October 10, if candidates registering for the residency program do not come to complete the enrollment procedures, the school will continue to call for additional candidates. Some candidates have boldly given up their right to choose to create opportunities for those ranked behind.
Some of the residency specialties considered “hot” this year that candidates quickly chose are: Obstetrics and Gynecology, Plastic Surgery, Oncology, Pediatrics, Diagnostic Imaging, Anesthesia and Resuscitation, etc.
"To be successful, you must have passion. Medicine is a difficult profession. Every major is difficult. There is no major that is easy to succeed in. To nurture passion, students must try hard, commit, and be serious in the next 3 years of study to achieve the desired results," the Principal of the University of Medicine emphasized.
This is the 9th consecutive year that Hanoi Medical University has organized registration for the residency program. The intensive training program, professional working environment and experienced lecturers help students not only improve their professional knowledge but also practice necessary soft skills, preparing a solid foundation to become a good doctor.
