Wide-area inspection
Faced with the risk of food insecurity at collective kitchens, food service establishments and street food, the province strengthened inspection and supervision. In the Action Month for Food Safety 2026, 128 inter-sectoral delegations inspected 2,872 food production and business establishments in the area.
Through actual inspection, functional forces recorded that most establishments basically comply with regulations. However, there is still a situation of incomplete 3-step inspection, unsanitary processing areas and potential risks of cross-contamination of food.
The inspection results showed that 22 violating establishments were administratively fined with a total amount of more than 121 million VND. Some establishments have appeared harmful insects in the processing area, affecting food safety assurance conditions.

At Thanh An Private Kindergarten, which serves nearly 540 meals per day, the work of controlling raw materials, storing food samples and performing 3-step inspection is maintained regularly according to regulations.
Ms. Dang Thi Ly - Principal of the school said that the unit always focuses on training food safety knowledge for staff, periodic health check-ups and selecting suppliers with clear sources of ingredients to ensure the quality of meals.
Inspection work is also expanded to food and beverage businesses, street food, especially areas with a large concentration of workers. This is identified as a high-risk group if not regularly monitored.
Strengthen post-inspection
In the area around Hoa Phu Industrial Park, many food businesses serving workers operate bustlingly in the early morning and late afternoon. However, some small establishments still have limitations in hygiene conditions, shelter and food preservation.
Ms. Luu Thi Thu Thuy, a business household in Phu Quoi commune, said that she regularly updates information and propaganda about food safety to apply in processing and business. According to her, ensuring hygiene not only protects customers' health but also helps create prestige and maintain long-term business operations.
Mr. Bui Ai Doan - Head of the Provincial Sub-Department of Food Safety and Hygiene - said that the risk of food insecurity is still present, especially at small-scale establishments and street food. Therefore, in addition to strengthening inspection and handling of violations, it is necessary to promote propaganda and guidance to raise awareness of producers, businesses and consumers.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Be Hai - Deputy Director of the Department of Health, the whole province currently has more than 22,000 establishments under the management of the health sector, of which more than 8,000 are street food businesses. The large and dispersed number makes management difficult.
Mr. Hai said that in the coming time, the health sector will strengthen post-inspection, maintain inter-sectoral inspection teams at collective kitchens, food service establishments and street food; and at the same time monitor the remedy of existing problems after inspection to limit recurrence.
According to Mr. Hai, management work will shift from "pre-inspection" to "post-inspection" associated with risk management. In addition to handling violations, the health sector focuses on raising self-awareness, forming habits of producing, trading and using safe food.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Be Muoi said that the locality will continue to direct sectors and localities to strengthen inspection and post-inspection in a focused and key direction, focusing on high-risk groups.
Along with inspecting and handling violations, training and guidance for establishments to comply with regulations will be promoted to improve the effectiveness of food poisoning prevention and protect people's health," Ms. Muoi added.
