11 people detained for cockfighting in an empty lot in the middle of a rice field

    Despite the continuous rain for many days, a group of people in Tam Binh district (Vinh Long) organized cockfighting in an empty lot in the middle of a rice field.

    At around 11:40 a.m. on September 23, Vinh Long Provincial Police coordinated with Tam Binh District Police to inspect and catch red-handed an illegal gambling spot in the form of cockfighting for money on an empty lot, located in the middle of a rice field in Phu Hung Hamlet, Phu Thinh Commune, Tam Binh District, Vinh Long Province, while it was raining.

    At the scene, the authorities detained 11 related male subjects and seized evidence and vehicles including: 1 chicken, 2 pairs of iron spurs, 1 electronic scale, 15 rolls of used tape, 9 mobile phones, 9 motorbikes with a total value of 34,410,000 VND.

    The case is currently being investigated and handled by Tam Binh District Police in accordance with the law.
