The Investigation Police Agency of Area 2 of Da Nang City Police has just coordinated with My An Ward Police, Ngu Hanh Son District to arrest Tran Van Hao (27 years old, residing in Phuoc My Ward, Son Tra District) for the act of property theft and showing signs of extortion.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of May 14, Ms. Ha Thi Thoa (35 years old) reported losing her handbag containing 2 phones ( iPhone 15 Promax and Oppo A95) while swimming at Sao Bien beach, My An ward. Surprisingly, after the theft, Ms. Thoa texted her phone number and received a response from the thief. This subject blatantly asked her to transfer 10 million VND to redeem the property.
Recognizing that the incident was reckless and caused disorder, the police force quickly took action. Using professional measures, the investigation agency quickly identified Tran Van Hao as the main suspect and summoned him to work.
At the police office, Hao claimed that, on the afternoon of May 14, after taking his girlfriend to the sugarcane juice shop near Sao Bien beach, he sneaked down to the beach to steal Ms. Thoa's bag. Hao took 2 phones, turned off the iPhone 15 Promax hidden, and the Oppo A95 used a message to send a message for the victim to ask for a ransom. After the agreement, Hao asked Ms. Thoa to transfer 10 million dong via the shipper to receive the iPhone, otherwise she would sell the other. It was from this clue that the police caught the trenches.
Notably, Hao has just completed his prison term in May 2024 after being sentenced to 12 months in prison by Ngu Hanh Son District People's Court for the crime of "Illegal trading of bank account information". Due to lack of stable jobs and homelessness, Hao continued his path of theft. The case is being investigated.
