On the afternoon of March 11, Major Tran Van Hung, Head of Da Huoai Commune Police (Lam Dong) said that regarding the body of a male student found in a deep abyss at the foot of Chuoi Pass, functional agencies have completed the scene examination and autopsy.

Through initial verification, the cause was determined to be that the victim was driving a motorbike and had a traffic accident, falling into the abyss and leading to death.
The victim was identified as Tran Truong Trinh (22 years old, from Quang Ngai province), currently a student at a university in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the investigation results, at about 5 am on March 8, Mr. Trinh was driving a motorbike on National Highway 20 in the direction from Da Lat to Ho Chi Minh City.
When going down Chuoi Pass, while cornering in the Hong stream area at the foot of the pass in Da Huoai commune, the victim had an accident, fell and plunged into a ravine about 4m deep, leading to death.

After completing the procedures, functional agencies handed over the victim's body to his family to take him back to his hometown in Quang Ngai province for funeral arrangements.
Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported, at about 7:15 am on the same day, some people traveling on National Highway 20 in the direction from Da Lat to Ho Chi Minh City when reaching the foot of Chuoi Pass area discovered unusual signs and stopped to check.
Through inspection, people discovered the body of a young man and a Honda Air Blade motorbike in a ravine about 4m deep, so they reported it to the authorities.
Upon receiving the report, Da Huoai Commune Police quickly arrived to blockade and protect the scene; and at the same time coordinated with professional units of Lam Dong Provincial Police to examine the scene and investigate the incident.
