6 completed social housing areas have been accepted.
Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee has publicized social housing projects for low-income people and industrial park workers that have been completed, accepted and put into use in the area from 2021 to present.
According to statistics of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee, there are 6 social housing projects that have been completed and put into use, divided into 2 groups.
In which, the first group is an independent social housing project, including the following projects: HPN social housing area (Binh Nham ward, Thuan An city) deployed on an area of 1.49 hectares of land with 110 apartments;
Social housing and green park project (An Phu ward, Thuan An city) built on a 0.46ha land with 262 apartments;
Viet Sing residential area project (An Phu ward, Thuan An city) is built on a 5.12ha land with 664 houses.
The second group is social housing areas on the 20% land fund in the remaining commercial housing project including: The social housing project adjacent to the Cau Do Residential Area project (An Dien ward, Ben Cat city) with a construction area of 3.1 hectares, 276 houses can be built;
The adjacent social housing area of the Thuan Loi 2 commercial housing project (Hoa Loi ward, Ben Cat city) is built on a 3-hectare land with 249 units.
129,212 more social housing units needed by 2030
According to records, in the past 3 years, the construction of social housing in Binh Duong has slowed down. The number of completed and accepted projects is low, leading to the number of workers owning social housing during this period being low. The total number of completed and accepted apartments supplied to the market is only 1,643.
Completed projects are mainly concentrated in Thuan An and Ben Cat cities. Localities with large concentrations of workers such as Di An, Tan Uyen and Thu Dau Mot have had almost no completed projects in recent years. Workers in these localities are struggling to find social housing.
Only Becamex’s Viet Sing Residential Area Project builds apartments with prices suitable for low-income workers (about 280 million VND/unit). The rest of the projects are mostly townhouses priced over 1 billion VND.
Currently, the demand for social housing of workers in Binh Duong in the cities of Thuan An, Di An, Thu Dau Mot, Tan Uyen is very large.
According to the People's Committee of Binh Duong province, according to forecasts, from now until 2030, the number of workers in Binh Duong with the need to buy social housing will be about 129,212 units.
Land allocation, speed up construction of social housing for workers
According to the Electronic Information Portal of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial People's Committee has issued Decision No. 1696/QD-UBND approving the Project on developing social housing and workers' housing for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030. According to the Project, for the entire period 2021-2030, Binh Duong plans to invest in about 160,325 social housing units (155,289 apartments and 5,036 townhouses, of which about 32,065 are for rent). Each unit is an average of 50m2 for a family of 2. Providing accommodation for about 552,458 people. To develop the above apartments, the province needs to allocate about 470.4 hectares of land.
