Super small, super thin houses are not rare in Hanoi. Recently, a house measuring only 7 square meters in Hanoi "caused a fever" when it was put up for sale for 1.78 billion VND.
Mr. Nguyen Hung - the person who is selling this house - said that the house is located in a small alley in the center of Dong Da district. The alley leading to the house is just wide enough for one motorbike.
The 4-storey house has a living room, bedroom, bathroom, parking space... The first floor is a parking space, which can accommodate 2-3 motorbikes. The second floor is a living room, with a sofa set, cabinets and shelves. In addition, this floor has a large window, making the room more airy.
The third floor is the bedroom, just enough to fit a bed and a small wardrobe. The fourth floor is the kitchen and bathroom. The house is small but has all the legal documents.
In addition to this house, there are many other super small houses for sale in Hanoi for around 2 billion VND, depending on the location. Mr. Nguyen Hai (a real estate broker in Hanoi) said that he is selling a 12m2 house in Lac Long Quan (Tay Ho district, Hanoi) for 2.28 billion VND.
"The house has 4 floors, located in a small alley, about 60m from the main road. This price is reasonable because the house is located in a rare location, near a busy area, with high liquidity" - Mr. Hai said.
After reading the information about the sale of "super small" houses, Mr. Nguyen Van Duy (Thanh Oai district, Hanoi) expressed his opinion: "Spending nearly 2 billion VND to buy such a small house, I think it is not worth it. The area of these houses is only half the size of my bedroom."
According to Mr. Duy, instead of choosing to buy small houses in deep alleys in inner-city districts, people can choose houses with larger, more airy areas in suburban areas.
Meanwhile, Mr. Hoang Khanh (Cau Giay District, Hanoi) said that these houses help people with average income like him achieve their dream of buying a house in Hanoi. Although the house is small and located in a deep alley, it is convenient for his and his wife's work and their children's education. Every day, the whole family will not have to struggle with the long commute, especially on rainy days.
"This is a reasonable choice for people with not-so-high incomes like me. Although these houses are small, if they are arranged scientifically and reasonably, they will not affect the quality of life too much," said Mr. Khanh.
