From July 15, many special allowances for medical staff were officially adjusted after nearly 15 years of being kept unchanged, including an increase of nearly 185%.

Decree 192/2026/ND-CP stipulates a number of special allowances in the field of health and monthly support for village health workers, residential groups, and village and hamlet midwives. The Decree takes effect from July 15.

The subjects of application are public employees and laborers at public health facilities, medical forces in the army, police, people participating in epidemic prevention and control and grassroots health workers.

On-duty allowances increase by nearly 185%

Workers on duty 24/24 hours at medical facilities are entitled to allowances from 70,000-325,000 VND/person/duty session, depending on the level of medical facility.

In which, the level of 32.5 million VND/person/session applies to special-class, class I medical facilities and some central forensic psychiatric units; class II is entitled to 255,000 VND; the remaining medical facilities, commune health stations and public out-of-hospital emergency facilities are entitled to 185,000 VND; nursing and care facilities for people with meritorious services and some social assistance facilities are entitled to 70,000 VND.

On-duty staff in special departments and areas are entitled to 1.5 times the prescribed level. On-duty on weekly holidays is calculated as 1.3 times, and on-duty on holidays and Tet is entitled to 1.8 times the normal daily allowance level. In addition, on-duty staff 24/24 hours are also supported with 40,000 VND/person/session for meals.

Compared to current regulations, the on-duty allowance at special grade and grade I hospitals increased from 115,000 VND to 325,000 VND/session, equivalent to an increase of nearly 185%.

Group A epidemic prevention allowance increases to 420,000 VND/day

For people directly involved in monitoring, epidemiological investigation, sampling, testing, examination and treatment of patients with group A infectious diseases, the allowance level is increased to 420,000 VND/person/day. Other supporting forces are entitled to 280,000 VND/person/day.

For group B infectious diseases, the allowance level is 280,000 VND/person/day; group C is 210,000 VND/person/day.

People on duty to fight the epidemic 24/24 hours are entitled to 280,000 VND/person/day and are multiplied by a coefficient when on duty on holidays or Tet holidays, and are also supported with meal money of 40,000 VND/person/duty session.

Surgery allowance doubles

The Decree also strongly adjusts allowances for staff directly participating in surgery and procedures.
