Director of the Department of Construction of Can Tho City Mai Nhu Toan has just signed and issued a document to departments, branches, sectors; People's Committees of districts; investors of social housing projects; and social housing buyers on rectifying the activities of buying, selling and trading social housing in the city.
Accordingly, currently, on some social networking sites (online newspapers, Zalo, Facebook,...) there are reports of illegal buying and selling and trading of social housing (not to the right subjects, not at the right price approved by the state,...) causing public confusion.
In order to promptly inform and propagate to rectify the activities of buying, selling and trading social housing in the city, the Department of Construction requests relevant units to strictly comply with the provisions of the Housing Law 2023, the Real Estate Business Law 2023, Decree No. 100 dated July 26, 2024 and related legal documents.
Investors of social housing projects must urgently check and review the settlement of social housing sales after receiving approval from competent authorities according to the approved list. At the same time, report data on the list of apartments with signed contracts, the number of apartments that have not been settled for sale, lease, or lease-purchase to comply with regulations.
Can Tho City Department of Construction also requested departments, branches, sectors, City Police, City Military Command to widely inform civil servants, public employees, workers, officers, professional soldiers, non-commissioned officers of the People's Armed Forces, police workers, civil servants, workers and national defense officials... about social housing projects; legal regulations on subjects, conditions and procedures for buying, renting, and hire-purchasing social housing; strictly prohibiting the act of buying and selling social housing when not qualified.
