On July 25, Sun Group started construction of Sun Galaxy Complex - the first international-scale festival, event, cultural and entertainment complex in Da Nang, with a total investment of nearly 10,750 billion VND.
The project is built on an area of more than 210,000m2, in Da Nang Downtown megacity, Ngu Hanh Son ward. This will be the first project to be implemented in the urban area, playing the role of "heart" of culture, events and entertainment of the entire Han River riverside area.
Stage of nearly 20,000 seats
The central item of Sun Galaxy Complex is an outdoor stage - stand with a capacity of nearly 20,000 people, facing the Han River and the fireworks display area.
With a modern technical infrastructure system, the project not only serves the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF), but also has the ability to organize large-scale music festivals, art programs, cultural festivals, exhibitions, conferences and MICE events.
The complex also has a 47-story commercial - service building, about 183m high, integrating hotels, accommodation apartments, shopping centers, restaurants, conference rooms, ballrooms and many high-class amenities. The accommodation system is expected to be managed by Accor, allowing visitors to enjoy fireworks displays right from the resort.

In terms of architecture, the project is inspired by the Han River flow and the image of the moon. The central block develops from a 69m diameter circle, opposite the 69-story tower of Da Nang Downtown, forming the idea "Moon meets Sun on the River of Light".
This design is expected to create a new architectural symbol along the Han River, and at the same time build a corresponding space to elevate the DIFF brand.
After 14 seasons of organization, the fireworks festival has become one of the outstanding tourism and cultural products of Da Nang. However, the event is currently mainly concentrated in some summer nights, not creating a regular flow of visitors and experiential activities throughout the year.
Mr. Dang Minh Truong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sun Group - said that the company aims to move the value of DIFF beyond fireworks performance nights.
“Sun Galaxy Complex not only serves a fireworks season, but also adds to Da Nang a cultural institution - an event worthy of international stature, paving the way for the night economy and high-quality tourism,” Mr. Truong said.
Festival heart" by the Han River
Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung - Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee assessed that the investment in a DIFF service complex is a specific and breakthrough step in the city's cultural industry development process.
According to Mr. Hung, DIFF has gone beyond the framework of a fireworks festival to become a cultural and tourism brand of Da Nang and Vietnam. However, for this brand to continue to reach out, the city needs a corresponding event organization infrastructure.

The project not only serves the fireworks festival but also aims to organize a series of events and high-class cultural and artistic programs at home and abroad. Through this, DIFF will gradually shift from a seasonal festival to a festival ecosystem and night economy operating year-round," Mr. Hung emphasized.
Sun Galaxy Complex is also identified as a specific step in the policy of developing the cultural industry according to Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW, in which culture is considered an endogenous resource and driving force for development.
The project is invested entirely by enterprise capital, showing the role of the private economic sector in building large-scale cultural institutions. When put into operation, the complex is expected to contribute to making Da Nang a festival city, international event, high-quality tourism center and growth pole of the region.
