On September 10, Vice Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai chaired a meeting to listen to a progress report on the implementation of the Son My 1 Industrial Park project in Ham Tan district.
The Son My 1 Industrial Park project is located in Ham Tan district, Binh Thuan province, with a total land area to be recovered for implementation of 375.57 hectares. Including the Son My LNG Port Warehouse project, the Power Center, the access road and the Industrial Park operator's house. To date, the area that has been compensated and cleared is 87.01 hectares; the remaining land area that must be compensated and cleared by 2025 is 288.56 hectares.
In the above-mentioned project sections, there are areas where compensation and site clearance have been completed; compensation and site clearance are being carried out; the Commune People's Committee has met to consider the legality; the Compensation, Support and Resettlement Council has been approved; and the compensation and support plan has been assessed and approved.
Regarding the above progress, Vice Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai said that the progress of compensation and site clearance for the project in the past time was very slow. Meanwhile, the Son My 1 Industrial Park project in Ham Tan district is a very important project, when completed, it will contribute to promoting the socio-economic development of the locality.
Accordingly, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai requested the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to work directly with the People's Committee of Ham Tan district to remove difficulties and obstacles in the compensation and site clearance work of this project. Relevant departments, branches, sectors and units continue to guide and support the locality to effectively carry out the compensation and site clearance work of the Son My 1 Industrial Park project.
Ham Tan District People's Committee should be more proactive and closely coordinate with relevant departments, branches, sectors and localities to speed up the progress of compensation and site clearance for the Son My 1 Industrial Park project.
The Son My 1 Industrial Park project was approved by the Prime Minister in 2017. When fully invested, this place will become a power center of the province, attracting investment to develop energy industries, industries, logistics... And it is very important for the socio-economic development, industrialization and modernization process of Ham Tan district, the Southern region and the whole Binh Thuan province.
