In June 2025, Mr. Dinh Van Thieu - Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee - signed a document assigning the Department of Finance to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments and branches to study the proposed content of HCM57 Technology Company Limited and advise the Provincial People's Committee to report before July 9.
Previously, HCM57 Technology Company Limited sent a document to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province requesting approval to implement a project called "The 257m tallest National Monument of Au Co - the world", with the orientation of becoming a typical cultural - tourism symbol of Vietnam and the world.
According to the introduction, the project is inspired by the legend of Lac Long Quan - Au Co, to honor the origin of the nation. This enterprise proposed a construction location located about 257m from Nha Trang coast, on the sea surface, with a total estimated investment of up to 1.57 billion USD (nearly 40,000 billion VND).
The expected scale includes: National Monument statue 257m high (including 57m of the base and 200m of the statue body); a circular construction site with a radius of 257m (equivalent to more than 207,000m2); a 257m long, 57m wide bridge connecting the mainland to the statue.
In addition, there is a complex of high-end hotels under the sea, shopping malls and restaurants combined with tourism services.
Currently, the proposed content is still being considered and evaluated by departments and branches of Khanh Hoa province for feasibility, planning and legality before receiving official opinions.
