After the merger, Gia Lai province promptly directed and approved plans for managing and using houses and land and implemented the arrangement and handling of redundant public assets in the area.
Through review and statistics, the province has basically fully identified the quantity, area, current status of use, management origin and legal status of houses and land facilities, as a basis for developing management, use and handling plans in accordance with regulations.
To date, the whole province has 8 facilities that do not meet standards and norms and 1,054 redundant houses and land facilities that are vacant and unused.
Among these, there is 1 facility using it for improper purposes; 14 facilities are vacant, not used, showing signs of encroachment, existence of people's works on land; 7 facilities have legal obstacles; 3 facilities are vacant and assigned to wrong management areas.
Implementing the Ministry of Finance's proposal on the management and use of public assets and reviewing the surplus housing and land fund for housing development for rent, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee has organized a review of the entire surplus housing and land fund that is likely to be converted.
Through review, most of the houses and land belonging to public assets have been approved for arrangement, handling and putting into use for the right purpose, in accordance with the plan.
In addition, the demand for rental housing in urban areas such as Quy Nhon, An Nhon, Hoai Nhon, Pleiku, An Khe, Ayun Pa and areas with industrial parks and clusters is currently not large. Meanwhile, the supply of rental housing invested by households and individuals basically meets market demand.
In addition, the current status and function of redundant public housing and land facilities, if converted into rental housing, will have low efficiency and not fully promote their value.
According to Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, through initial assessment, redundant housing and land facilities cannot simultaneously meet the conditions on planning, connecting technical infrastructure, social infrastructure, usage needs and exploitation efficiency to propose conversion to housing development for rent.
In the coming time, the province will assign the Department of Finance, the Department of Construction and agencies and localities to continue to review, arrange and handle redundant housing and land facilities; prioritize researching facilities with suitable locations, scale and functions to serve the development of rental housing.
The province will also survey actual needs, add this content to the housing development program and plan, ensuring it is suitable for the conditions and needs of the locality.
