On August 21, the Department of Construction of Khanh Hoa province said that it had sent a document to social housing project investors in the area on the implementation of the principle of selling and leasing social housing.
According to the Appendix attached to Notice No. 246 May 2026 of the Ministry of Construction on the results of working, urging, and promoting the development of social housing in Khanh Hoa province, each subject is only allowed to buy or rent a social housing unit nationwide.
Implementing this content, the Department of Construction requests social housing project investors in the province to review the list in the documents on the verification results of the Department of Construction from August 1, 2024 to date.
For people from outside the province who do not currently live or work in Khanh Hoa, the Department of Construction requests the investor to be responsible for ensuring that people who buy or rent social housing have not bought or have not rented social housing nationwide.
This is to ensure that social housing support policies are implemented for the right beneficiaries, and at the same time implement the principle of buying or leasing social housing according to the provisions of Clause 6, Article 88 of the 2023 Housing Law.
The Department of Construction also requests investors, if difficulties or obstacles arise in the implementation process, to send documents to the Department for summarization and reporting to competent authorities.
As of June 2026, Khanh Hoa has 13 social housing projects with a total area of about 114ha, a scale of 20,008 units and a total investment of about 30,342 billion VND.
According to the assigned target, by 2030, Khanh Hoa must complete 10,088 social housing units.
About 20% of the total number of units, equivalent to 2,100 units according to the provided data, will be arranged in the form of rental housing and worker dormitories, serving workers who do not yet have enough conditions to buy houses.
