On the evening of August 20, Vietnam Education Publishing House said that by the same day, about 24.5 million copies of textbooks had been supplied to parents, students and schools in Ho Chi Minh City, reaching 98% of the demand.
This unit said that it has prepared and supplied enough textbooks according to registered and pre-ordered needs. The output of textbooks supplied this year increased by more than 15% compared to 2025.
Currently, Vietnam Education Publishing House is additionally printing 9 million copies of textbooks, expected to start supplying from August 25 and complete around September 5-6.
In addition, about 2.4 million copies of textbooks are being continuously printed to supplement new needs arising from some schools and localities and books with low output. This number of books is expected to be supplied from September 5 to September 30, prioritizing semester I books.
Vietnam Education Publishing House also continues to transfer textbooks between localities to balance the source of books according to actual needs.
For the amount of books that schools in Ho Chi Minh City have ordered in addition in recent days, Phuong Nam Education Development Investment Company and Ho Chi Minh City School Book and Equipment Company will supply the maximum number of books available in stock. The remaining book titles will be printed in addition and supplied in September.
Faced with the situation that some parents have to queue, go to many bookstores but have not bought enough books, Vietnam Education Publishing House recommends that parents register to buy textbooks at school.
The unit also said that some bookstores in Ho Chi Minh City are having enough textbooks, including addresses on Nguyen Tri Phuong, Phan Van Tri, Hoang Sa, Nguyen Van Cu, Cach Mang Thang Tam and Binh Gia streets.
In addition, parents can buy books online at the unit's book selling systems.
Vietnam Education Publishing House also reminds parents that they can use books belonging to the Connecting Knowledge with Life set that have been printed in previous years to serve the 2026-2027 school year, according to the guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training, in order to avoid waste.
However, there are 11 revised books that need to use the new version, including: History and Geography grades 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9; History 10; History study topic 10; Economic and Legal Education 10; Geography 12 and Geography study topic 12.
