Glorious victory of patriotism under the leadership of the Party
The victory of the August Revolution in 1945 is one of the most glorious and brilliant pages of the nation's history, opening an era of independent freedom advancing towards socialism.
Under the leadership of the Party, the August Revolution of 1945 was successful, the Vietnamese ethnic group crushed the colonial and feudal rule, overthrew the henchmen's government, seized power in the hands of the people, and gave birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam).
That event not only marked the glorious victory of the patriotic spirit and steadfast fighting will of the Vietnamese people, but also affirmed the bravery, wisdom, and great stature of our Party and President Ho Chi Minh.
According to Dr. Nguyen Van Phuong - Military Officer School No. 2, right from its establishment, the Communist Party of Vietnam correctly identified the goal and revolutionary line as national independence associated with socialism, taking Marxism-Leninism as the ideological foundation and steadfastly pursuing the goal of national liberation as the central task in the immediate future.
Under the leadership of the Party, the Vietnamese revolutionary movement gradually overcame difficulties and challenges. Along with that, the Party's strategic guidelines and tactics have been constantly supplemented and developed to suit each revolutionary period.
A noteworthy point is that President Ho Chi Minh, after many years of activities abroad, returned to the country to directly lead the revolution, convened and chaired the 8th Central Conference (May 1941), deciding to establish the Viet Minh Front. That was a strategic turning point, laying the foundation for the gathering and promotion of the strength of the entire nation.
Besides setting out the right direction, our Party has always shown firm political bravery, sensitivity in analyzing the situation, assessing revolutionary opportunities and making timely and accurate decisions.
During the Japanese coup against France (March 1945), the Party quickly launched a high tide of resistance against Japan to save the country, strongly promoted the revolutionary movement, and built a widespread political and armed force. When the Japanese fascists surrendered to the Allies in mid-August 1945, our Party and President Ho Chi Minh promptly recognized this as a "three-year opportunity" to launch the National General Uprising and win complete victory.
The result of a laborious and persistent preparation process
According to Senior Lieutenant Colonel, Dr. Phan Van Luong (Department of Propaganda and Training, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army), the success of the General Uprising to seize power in the autumn of 1945 is the result of a laborious and persistent preparation process under the leadership of the Party.
Our Party not only "forecasts the opportunity" but also " seizes the opportunity" decisively, mobilizing all political and military strength into the final decision-making battle. The tight organizational system, high discipline, and smooth coordination from the Central to local levels demonstrate the superior organizational and leadership capacity of the Party.
In particular, according to Senior Lieutenant Colonel, Dr. Phan Van Luong, it is impossible not to mention the particularly outstanding role of President Ho Chi Minh, the founder, leader and soul of the Communist Party of Vietnam. With strategic thinking and sharp revolutionary vision, he not only found the right path to save the country for the nation but also inspired and aroused patriotism and fighting will for millions of people.
On September 2, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, declaring to the whole world the birth of an independent Vietnam. President Ho Chi Minh's leading role was absolutely trusted by the people, being a crystallized symbol of the bloc of national unity, for the intellect, conscience and aspiration for independence and freedom of the entire nation.
In today's era, when the country is on the path of development and integration, the lessons of steadfastness in the field, independent thinking, political bravery and strategic vision of the Party in the August Revolution still have profound current affairs value, and need to be further researched and creatively applied in building and firmly protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.
