On the morning of August 27, in Hai Van ward, Da Nang city, the project to invest in construction and business of functional area infrastructure at Location No. 2 of Da Nang Free Trade Zone (EAGLE FTZ) was officially launched.
The project has a scale of 75ha, with a total investment of more than 1,568 billion VND, located at the northern gateway of the city, connecting Lien Chieu International Seaport, National Highway 1A, La Son - Tuy Loan expressway and Kim Lien freight station. This is one of the important infrastructures for Da Nang to gradually realize the model of the first Free Trade Zone of Vietnam.
Mr. Mai Cong Ho - General Director of Saigon - Da Nang Investment Joint Stock Company (SDN), the project investor - said that EAGLE FTZ does not develop like a simple industrial real estate area, but aims for an integrated logistics - production - service ecosystem, helping businesses optimize costs and shorten goods circulation time.
At the launching ceremony, experts emphasized that the logistics cost problem is a major challenge. In 2025, Vietnam's import and export turnover reached about 930 billion USD, but logistics costs still accounted for about 16% of GDP, 11-12% higher than the world average.
To solve this problem, YCH Group and SDN propose to deploy EAGLE FTZ step by step, initially piloting on an area of 5-10ha with goods, customers and actual customs operations, and testing mechanisms on taxes, customs and digital commerce before expansion.
EAGLE FTZ will focus on attracting fields such as logistics, semiconductor, advanced electronics, aviation components, electric vehicle batteries, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.
