On August 20, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee issued a decision allowing Hoan Cau Da Lat Joint Stock Company to continue leasing land to implement the King Palace project at Dinh I (Bao Dai Palace), Xuan Huong ward - Da Lat.
The project has an area of more than 18ha, of which about 16.3ha is landscape forest land along with Dinh I area, flower garden and green trees.
According to the decision, Hoan Cau Da Lat Joint Stock Company is responsible for implementing the project in accordance with regulations; fully fulfilling obligations on land, taxes, investment, construction, environment and finance.
Previously, in 2014, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee leased Dinh I to this enterprise to implement the King Palace tourism and resort project for a term of 50 years.
The project aims to restore the current state of Palace I, build a villa and hotel area for tourism, with an area of about 18.2ha.
In September 2015, the King Palace project officially went into operation.
However, in 2020, the Government Inspectorate proposed that the People's Committee of Lam Dong province terminate the project operation and recover land due to violations by businesses in the field of land and investment.
In September 2021, the Department of Planning and Investment of Lam Dong province decided to terminate the King Palace project operation. In June 2022, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province issued a decision to recover land for the project.
On April 26, 2024, Palace I closed and stopped welcoming guests. After that, the obstacles related to the King Palace project were included in the group of 6 commercial, tourism - service projects prioritized for removal by Lam Dong province.
The decision of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee to lease land to implement the project is expected to contribute to removing the long-standing problems at Palace I; and at the same time bring this relic and tourist spot back into operation, promoting landscape and tourism values.
