From May 1, 2024, Ben Cat officially became a city and 2 communes directly under Ben Cat also became wards, An Dien and An Tay. Established An Dien ward on the basis of the entire natural area of 31.22 km2 and population of 25,363 people of An Dien commune. An Dien ward borders An Tay, My Phuoc, Thoi Hoa wards, Phu An commune; Bau Bang district and Dau Tieng district.
Established An Tay ward on the basis of the entire natural area of 44.01 km2 and population of 41,917 people of An Tay commune. An Tay ward borders An Dien ward, Phu An commune; Dau Tieng district and Ho Chi Minh City.
Established Ben Cat city on the basis of the entire natural area of 234.35 km2 and population of 364,578 people of Ben Cat town in Binh Duong province.
Ben Cat city borders Tan Uyen city, Thu Dau Mot city, Bau Bang, Bac Tan Uyen, Dau Tieng and Ho Chi Minh City districts.
After its establishment, Ben Cat city has 8 commune-level administrative units, including 7 wards (An Dien, An Tay, Chanh Phu Hoa, Hoa Loi, My Phuoc, Tan Dinh, Thoi Hoa) and Phu An commune.
Binh Duong province has 9 district-level administrative units, including 4 districts and 5 cities; 91 commune-level administrative units, including 39 communes, 47 wards and 5 towns.
Ben Cat city has up to 8 industrial parks, attracting thousands of businesses to build factories, invest in business, and create jobs for about 180,000 workers. This place gradually becomes an area for developing high-tech industry, clean industry, and a center for research and transfer of science and technology. According to the orientation, by 2040, Ben Cat urban development will be an industrial - service urban center - traffic hub.
Urban development along Ring Road 4 of Ho Chi Minh City
Currently, Binh Duong province is urgently completing legal procedures, selecting investors, installing stakes for site clearance... to soon start construction on the Ring Road 4 project in Ho Chi Minh City.
Notably, this project also goes through Ben Cat city. Currently, 8km overlapping with NE2 road passing through Thoi Hoa ward has been built. The Ring Road 4 project continues through An Dien and An Tay wards to the Saigon River. These two newly established wards have mainly agricultural land. When Ring Road 4 passes, it will create motivation for urban development here.
In early July 2024, the People's Committee of Binh Duong province issued a decision to approve the urban development area along Ring Road 4 - Area No. 1 of Ben Cat city, Binh Duong province.
According to the People's Committee of Binh Duong province, this will be a port - logistics - service urban area bordering the Saigon River and Thi Tinh River. The area of implementation of the urban area is about 2,702 hectares.
Notably, the urban development project is expected to invest about 130,327.7 billion VND. Investment resources for urban development will come from state budget capital, socialization, bonds, capital mobilized by investors from urban development projects and other legal capital sources.
There will be 10 urban development projects in An Tay ward, An Dien ward and Phu An commune in Ben Cat city.
The projects with the largest area include: Dong An Dien urban area with an area of 298 hectares with an investment capital of about 17,880 billion VND; Tay Phu An urban area project has an area of 289.4 hectares with an investment capital of about 13,167.7 billion VND; Dong An Tay Urban Area project and An Tay Riverfront Urban Area project have the same area of 289 hectares and the investment capital of each project is about 13,150 billion VND.
These 10 urban area projects will be invested in from 2025 to 2040. Binh Duong will organize bidding to select investors according to regulations.
When constructing Ring Road 4 of Ho Chi Minh City (expected to start in 2024) along with the 10 large real estate projects mentioned above, when implemented, it will be a driving force for Ben Cat city to develop urban areas along the Saigon and Saigon rivers. Thi Tinh in the future.
