On September 7, units are focusing machinery and personnel to accelerate the construction progress of the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 13 section passing through the old Binh Duong province. According to records, after more than 4 years of construction, the project has now reached about 80% of the volume. About 10 km (from Ong Bo bridge intersection to Le Hong Phong intersection) has been completed expanding from 6 to 8 lanes, sidewalks are being constructed, and median strips are being adjusted.
The remaining 5 km section (from Vinh Binh bridge to Ong Bo bridge intersection) is about to be completed, expanded from 6 to 8 lanes, and is under construction to raise the foundation of National Highway 13. Notably, this section is affected by site clearance issues, affecting the project construction progress.
According to records, the section passing through Lai Thieu toll station (Lai Thieu ward) still has 2 cases that have not dismantled the works and handed over the site to the construction unit.
Specifically, a level 4 house near Lai Thieu toll station (about 4m wide, about 7m long) has not been dismantled yet. This section is being constructed by units, so they have to stop. A section away also has a level 4 house, and the green trees in front of the house have not been dismantled or relocated.
According to records, the fact that the site has not been handed over makes the construction work at these locations unable to be deployed synchronously, affecting the overall project progress.
While other sections of the project are being accelerated, the existence of the above projects causes congestion on National Highway 13 in the direction from the center of Ho Chi Minh City to Binh Duong. This section passing through the Lai Thieu toll station area puts a lot of pressure on traffic.
Talking to reporters, leaders of Lai Thieu Ward People's Committee said that the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 13 section passing through Lai Thieu ward has completed land compensation. Currently, there are two cases that have not been dismantled and handed over the site. Among them, in one case, the Ward People's Committee proposed to dismantle the house before September 10, this family agreed. If after September 10, the family still does not dismantle it, the Ward People's Committee will continue to work and resolve it.
The remaining case, according to the leader of Lai Thieu Ward People's Committee, is due to a family dispute and is being resolved by the court. The family is also repairing the house. The Ward People's Committee will continue to dialogue to persuade people to dismantle and hand over the site soon.
It is known that the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 13 from 6 to 8 lanes section passing through Binh Duong (formerly) started in early 2022 with a total investment of 6,255 billion VND. The project is about 15km long and is being expanded in the direction from the center of Ho Chi Minh City to Thu Dau Mot ward. Of which about 12 km is only widening lanes and not raising the foundation, 3 km is both raising the foundation and expanding. It is expected that the project will be completed and put into use in 2026.
