Although the investor only started receiving the application at 9am, from midnight people came, bringing chairs, blankets, food, and drinks to keep a seat, hoping to win a place to buy an apartment for 20.6 million VND/m2 - a price considered a rare "soft" in the midst of the storm of real estate prices in Hanoi.



According to records, every day, the number of people coming to submit applications to buy social housing in this project is very large. Faced with that reality, the investor has adjusted the organization method to create more convenience for the people. Accordingly, all those who come to submit their application in the morning are given consecutive numbers and specific instructions on the time frame to receive the application, helping people not have to wait in line overnight to submit their application. It is known that the social housing project in Uy No commune (now Dong Anh commune) has 419 apartments for sale and 47 apartments for rent, priced from 824 million to more than 1.5 billion VND/apartment, handed over in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Also in Hanoi, the Rice City Long Chau project (Bo De ward) is receiving applications for the first phase of social housing purchase and rental online, with a total of 1,765 apartments for sale. The application period is from October 1 to November 4.
At this project, thousands of people are recorded submitting applications online every day. However, many people have reported that the process of preparing and submitting documents still faces many difficulties, especially in the process of reviewing and operating the online registration system. Many cases have tried to submit for more than 10 days but still cannot complete due to the system's continuous report of overload.

It is known that the project consists of 3 CT1, CT2, CT3 buildings with 22 floors, corresponding to 1,951 apartments. Of which, 1,765 apartments are for sale at the price of 29.4 million VND/m2. The remaining apartments are for rent, priced at 346,701 VND/m2/month.
Talking to Lao Dong, Mr. Tran Van Duc (residing in Hanoi) said that currently, the demand for social housing among people is very high. Tens of thousands of people want to buy a house but only a few hundred apartments are for sale. That is why there is a phenomenon of many people lining up all night to buy a house.
"Currently, apartment prices in Hanoi are too high, it is difficult for me to buy a house with such a price level. I hope that in the coming time, there will be more social housing projects opening for sale to increase the supply of affordable housing for the market" - Mr. Duc said.
According to experts, the supply of social housing will continue to improve strongly in the coming time thanks to the drastic participation of the Government with specific actions. Recently, the Prime Minister requested: It is necessary to cut at least 50% of administrative procedures, include social housing projects in the "green channel" and "priority channel" to complete procedures quickly and promptly; create a clean land fund for social housing development in a flexible manner; diversify capital sources for social housing development, including credit capital, State capital through the Social Policy Bank, Housing Development Fund, bond issuance...
It is expected that on November 17, 2025, CT3 building of the Social Housing Project at land plots CT3, CT4 - Kim Chung New Urban Area, Kim Chung commune, Dong Anh district (now Thien Loc commune, Hanoi city) will open for sale in the first phase, including 929 apartments. The number of social housing units for sale is 589, with an area of about 35,068m2; the number of apartments for rent is 212 apartments, with an area of about 10,728m2; the number of apartments for rent is 128 apartments, with an area of about 7,551m2.
The temporary selling price of social housing apartments (including VAT and maintenance fees) is VND 18,400,000/m2; the temporary rental price is VND 91,700/m2/month; the temporary rental price is VND 312,860/m2/month, the rental period is 5 years.
